Disclosures and licensing
Services fulfilled by our affiliated service partner, Maid VIP.
Who does the work
- Maid VIP is a California domestic referral agency: it refers independent cleaning professionals it has interviewed, reference-checked and background-screened, and it does not employ them.
- Ventura Carpet Cleaners and Maid VIP have common owners.
Ventura Carpet Cleaners is an independent marketing and referral service, not a cleaning company. We do not clean carpets, upholstery, rugs or tile, or perform any work in your home. Quotes and cleaning are arranged through our affiliated partner, Maid VIP, a California domestic referral agency, and the cleaning is done by independent professionals who set their own prices and are responsible for their own work. We may receive compensation or referral fees from participating companies for connections made through this website.
Is there a state license for carpet cleaning?
No. California has no state license for carpet, upholstery, rug or tile cleaning, so there is no license number to look up for this work.
What the City of Ventura requires
The City of Ventura requires a business license of any business based in the city, a home included, and of any business that does work or earns income in it, including businesses based elsewhere (San Buenaventura Municipal Code chapter 4.155). Licenses expire every June 30. Any company cleaning in Ventura homes ought to have one.
When flooring work needs a CSLB license
The Contractors State License Board licenses flooring work under its C-15 class. Since January 1, 2025, unlicensed work is allowed only on jobs under $1,000 in labor and materials that need no building permit (Business and Professions Code 7048, as amended by AB 2622). Wood floor refinishing and carpet installation fall under it, which is why this site doesn’t refer them. You can look up a CSLB license.
